Repair Limited Warranty Agreement

Our repair
facility shall guarantee for a period of 12 months or 12,000 miles, which
ever shall first occur, the actual repair costs only of faulty parts and
labor furnished while performing the work (if any) shown on this invoice.
To request repairs at any participating Automotive Service Association
member facility, you must receive authorization from the original repair
facility prior to having warranty work performed.
The Automotive
Service Association (ASA) is an automotive trade association supplying
technical and management information and member services to the automotive
service industry. ASA will not be held liable for the quality of parts
and/or services covered under the provisions of this warranty or be required
to perform or be responsible for such work.
THIS
WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER
LEGAL RIGHTS THAT VARY BECAUSE OF LOCATION.
A.
LIMITED WARRANTY TERMS
- This warranty covers
materials and labor to correct any defect in workmanship arising from
repairs performed under the original attached invoice. It does not cover
incidental or consequential losses, ie., towing, loss of earnings, per
diem expenses, rental car costs, or any other claims of any nature whatsoever.
Member facility's obligations under this warranty is limited to replacing
or repairing damaged and/or defective parts and the labor incurred in
the performance of that task. If the Member Repair Shop has not shown
on the invoice that it specifically replaced or repaired an item, it
is not covered under the warranty.
- The work performed
could fail due to no fault of the repairing facility. Adjacent or related
parts to the repaired areas could fail, causing damage to the original
repair. Under these circumstances this warranty will not be applicable.
- Any damage caused
by neglect, abuse, misuse or collision is not covered by this warranty.
- This limited warranty
is limited to the customer listed on the reverse side of this document
and is not transferable.
B. HOW TO OBTAIN
WARRANTY SERVICE - INSTRUCTIONS:
- Always take a vehicle
back to the original member repair facility whenever possible.
- If your vehicle
requires out of town warranty service, place a collect * call to the
number listed by the original member repair facility. They will give
you instructions on how to get it repaired.
- When warranty repairs
are performed at a location other than the original member repairing
facility, the maximum amount to be paid by the original member repairing
facility shall be limited to no more than the cost of the original repair
as shown on the invoice.
C. INSTRUCTIONS
TO REPAIR FACILITY MAKING WARRANTY REPAIRS

- Diagnose the trouble
as accurately as possible.
- Prepare a written
estimate of the cost of repair.
- Call the member
repair facility (collect*) while the customer is there, and discuss
any repairs necessary, and price thereof, and determine if needed repairs
are covered by warranty. No payment will be made for more than the agreed
upon price.
D.
TRANSMISSION MAINTENANCE (if applicable) - INSTRUCTIONS TO CUSTOMER:
- Have transmission
checked within 2 weeks or 500 miles, whichever occurs first, from date
of delivery. The transmission should be checked for fluid levels, leaks,
noises, shift pattern, shift quality and overall performance. The member
repair shop will do this for you without charge.
- Check fluid level
in the transmission at least once a week for the first 60 days and every
30 days thereafter.
- Change fluid, clean
pan, replace filter and make any necessary adjustments in accordance
with the member shop recommendations of ______ miles or _____ months,
whichever occurs first.
- Save your receipts
and invoices to prove proper maintenance.
- This warranty will
not be valid if the vehicle has been used for towing purposes unless
a proper transmission cooler has been installed on the vehicle.
* WHEN MAKING A
COLLECT CALL: HAVE OPERATOR SPECIFY THE CALL IS IN REFERENCE
TO A WARRANTY REPAIR CLAIM.
