How do you define tune-up? Seems there is no set standard for what a tune-up is or what you get for your money. As a consumer it is important to understand that -

NOT ALL TUNE-UPS ARE CREATED EQUAL!

Comparing tune-up prices is like comparing apples and oranges. Instead, compare tune-up services and the level of technicians providing the service!

A first class tune-up includes a thorough diagnostic test by our qualified ASE certified technicians.

The price you pay will reflect the type of tune-up your vehicle is receiving. Understanding the different types of tune-ups will go a long way towards helping you appreciate the level of service that is provided.

Primarily there are 3 types of tune-ups:

A Basic Tune-up
A Major Tune-up
A Performance Tune-up

Each one provides a different level of service.

Basic Tune-up

Involves regular interval maintenance as specified by the original manufacturer.

Replacement of spark plugs.
Inspection of the spark plug wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor & air filter.
Inspection of the dwell & timing

Major Tune-up

Involves a more detailed maintenance of the vehicle designed to maximize performance and efficiency.

Replacement of spark plugs & spark plug wires.
Replacement of distributor cap, distributor rotor, fuel filter & air filter.
Inspection of the fuel system, emission system & ignition system.
Adjustment of the dwell, timing, & fuel mixture to OE specs.

Performance Tune-up

The most complete & beneficial tune-up to you car!

A questionnaire or survey of your vehicle.
A test drive to replicate the system.
The replacement or maintenance of any sub-par items on your vehicle identified in the diagnostic inspection.
